My ticket

Last week, I asked Avery if he had seen the exhibition for portfolio, and he said no. Then we decided to go to see it together. I asked my friend in Nanjing if there was any exhibition and I was told that we could go to the Nanjing Museum at Chaotian Temple. In the morning of March 1st, I took a bus to Xin Jiekou and get on a taxi to the museum. I met Avery at 10 a.m. and then we started watching.
This exhibition showed old things in the Sixth Destiny of old China and primitive men. Most of the artworks here were manmade while some of them were parts of primitive men’s bones of brains. During the exhibition, I found the long clothes were the most interesting ones. It was very long and seemed very light. I could imagine that it would be very comfortable when wearing it. It looked liked some kind of pajamas. However, I thought it frightening, for it looked bloody that something red was on the white clothes. Maybe red things were because that the cloth was kept for such a long time, but I thought it more like blood. For it was very long and soft, it also looked like a ghost. Some people was afraid of it.
I thought this exhibition was very boring and I didn’t like it. There was very little introduction for these artwork, so I didn’t understand them very clearly. Also, there was no brochure to introduce the museum. The conductor said that we should pay if we want the brochure. I thought these brochures were not worth that much. This museum should give more introduction for the artworks that the tourists would understand what they meant.

Dinner at German Garden Restaurant

The menu

On March 1st, I went to a restaurant called German Garden Restaurant with my room mates, Wiona and Amy. They told me that this restaurant was great and has a very good environment that makes people feel like that they were in German, so decided to have a try.
The restaurant was in the Water City, near the Fuzi Temple. It was not very big, but it gives me a feeling of old, classical but romantic bar in the west, where the cowboy used to get off his horse and ask for a cup of beer. Everything here was made of wood and I really liked this feeling. People who sat around us were most couples and were not very noisy, so we could enjoy our dinner in a quiet place.
Then we sat down and started reading the menu. Each of us ordered a set meal with chicken wings. I didn’t order beef or pizza as usual, for I had felt bored about such things. Before we got our main food, the waiters gave each of a cup of bubble fruit wine. The cups were put into a big vase as if the wine was in bunch of flowers. The wine was good and we really enjoyed it. Sometime later, our chicken wings were ready. With the wings, we got a piece of peach, pear and a little purple potato. Also, there were two … for each of us.
I liked these wings, for they are different from common wings. I could feel that the cook really put effort in making this food and it was the favor which I like very much, not too…nor too… If it possible, I would certainly recommend it to other people, especially couples, for it was such a wonderful and romantic place.
