Go to a church

The program
Outside the Church

I was in the Church

The program

On December 14th 2008, there was a religious service for Christmas at Mochou Lu Church. The church was at 390 Mochou Road. The service began at 2pm. I went there with my room mate, Winona, and we arrived there about half an hour before the service started. Many people in west counties believed in Protestantism and I was quite interested in their religion like that way. Then it was a good chance for me to learn about it. Also, for Christmas was coming, that one was a typical service for me to know more about their culture.
Many GCA students and teachers also went there. The church was soon filled with people. At the very beginning, the English choir led the song “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” and Responsive Pray which showed respect and thanksgiving to the god. After these, there were several speeches and performances about how Jesus was born and raised and about his life. The performers acted vividly that made me almost understand about Jesus and his life. Finally the service ended with some beautiful Christmas songs.
From this service, I knew about Jesus and the Protestantism. It showed a belief to the God. It was believed that the good would be treated well and the evil would be punished. The believers were encouraged to good things like the god.
I did not like the religious service. It was really boring, especially the speech time. The speakers talked a lot and I nearly fell asleep. They often said something that I could not understand and this made me did not know what was going on. Maybe next time I should choose something more interesting.
